What to expect your first visit
We are so pleased you have chosen to entrust us in your healing path. If you have not already done so, please take a moment to schedule your first appointment.
When you arrive for your first acupuncture appointment you will be asked you to complete a comprehensive intake form. The acupuncture intake form asks questions about your current state of health, past illnesses, and family history. These questions are important because the holistic approach of Oriental medicine takes everything into account. Your current symptoms may not seem related to past health issues, but our bodies are complex landscapes and everything that happens to them leaves its mark.
To make your first visit easier, our new patient intake can be found below. Simply print the form, fill it out and bring it with you to your appointment.
After reviewing your intake form, we will discuss your condition, and examine your pulse and tongue, which are two of the basic diagnostic methods of Oriental medicine. The acupuncture points chosen will depend on your condition. The appropriate acupuncture needles are then are inserted. You will then be left to lie comfortably for 15-20 minutes with the needles in place. It is our policy to make this process as warm and as comforting as possible. Most people find acupuncture treatment deeply relaxing, and it is not uncommon for patients to fall asleep.
Following Your Visit
At the conclusion of your visit you will be provided with any necessary post-treatment recommendations. Recommendations may include drinking increased amounts of water, dietary support or Chinese herbs. Follow-up treatments will be discussed if appropriate for your needs. Please let us know should you have any questions so we can proactively address your concerns.
